Probably every day, in some form, you hear that nothing but the best will do. Often you will then hear a description of what is best. This idea that it is better, better than you have, or better than you even imagined, often comes from a product marketer trying to sell you something. You may not buy the product, but does the marketer sell you any doubt (about yourself)? It mostly depends on who you are and how you see yourself.
Statistical averages for most substances, including individuals, tend to show a normal distribution of the substance as a single clock curve, where the median is a line drawn down from the highest point of the curve to the base. For a population of people, we would expect to find most people to be at this point and within the clock of the curve. The best people would be where the curve narrows to the right and the worst where it narrows to the left. From this discussion site we could go anywhere, but I would like to point out to you that the average is a good place for people to be. This is where most people are with their family, friends and colleagues.
Happiness may not occur to people who are striving to be the best at something. Often, the best thing is life-changing commitment, a higher cost of time, money and effort, to exclude many things that occupy one's perception of how to be happy. We admire those who are the best of something, but we also quite often see that those who achieve the best become deeply unhappy because they do not know where to channel the drive that got them to their personal peak.
The art of average life is how you live it every day. It becomes better if you have principles, an underlying morality that you anchor yourself and others that mean to you. Find out who you are. Are you an average person who can't find time to play with your family and friends because you have a second job, go to night school, commute two hours to work every day or live vicariously through a video game? You might want to check your face to see if a smile is there. # Tag1writer
